Benjamin5 Whitney (James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Dea. James4 and Martha (Rice) Whitney, was born 23 Oct 1727, Sherborn, MA,[1] and died 17 Dec 1793, Sherborn, MA.[2]
He married firstly, 18 Apr 1751, Sherborn, MA, Esther Leland,[3] daughter of Joseph and Esther (Thurston) Leland. She was born 31 Jul 1728, Sherborn, MA.
He "of Sherborn" married secondly, 9 Feb 1792, Mendon, MA, Mary Fairbanks "of Mendon".[4] She was born say 1730-1750, and died 23 Apr 1804, Upton, MA. Marriage intentions were published on 10 May 1795, Upton, MA, for her "Mrs." "of Mendon" and "Capt." Robert Taft,[5] as his second wife. She married secondly, 11 Jun 1795, Mendon, MA, Capt. Robert Taft "of Upton".[6]
