Benjamin7 Whitney (David6, Benjamin5, Joseph4, Joseph3, Jonathan2, John1), son of David6 and Susanna (Huntington) Whitney, was born 18 Feb 1796, Tunbridge, VT,[1] and died 1 Oct 1866, Tunbridge, VT.

He "of Tunbridge, Vt." married firstly, 10 Feb 1825, Pepperell, MA, Sibbel Parker.[2] See notes below for her identity.

He married secondly, 15 Oct 1837, Tunbridge, VT, Eliza (Hall) Whitney,[3] daughter of Nathaniel and Olive (Wallis) Hall. She was born 8 Sep 1806, Tunbridge, VT, and died 28 May 1888. She had married firstly, his brother William7 Whitney, q.v.

He resided Tunbridge, VT.

iv. Clara A. Whitney, b. 30 Aug 1844, Tunbridge, VT;[8] m. 27 Feb 1866, Tunbridge, VT, William B. Porter,[9] son George; resided West Hartford, VT.
v. Benjamin F. Whitney, b. 1 Oct 1846, Tunbridge, VT;[10] d. 27 Feb 1850.
vi. Edgar E. Whitney, b. 26 Aug 1848, Tunbridge, VT;[11] d. 22 Apr 1850.
vii. Mark C. Whitney, b. 23 Apr 1850 or 1851, Tunbridge, VT;[12] m. Rachel P. Carrigan.

Notes

His first wife Sibbel Parker may be the Sibbel Parker, daughter of Silas and Meriah (Farnsworth), born 7 Nov 1799, Groton, MA, or the Sybil Parker, daughter of Asa and Sybil (White), born 23 Sep 1793, Pepperell, MA. The former is more age-appropriate, the latter more geographically convenient.
