Benjamin Franklin8 Whitney (Benjamin7, Moses6, Ezra5, James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Benjamin7 and Rachel Nye (Spooner) Whitney, was born about 4 Jul 1818, Dorchester, MA, was baptized 11 Jul 1819, Dorchester, MA,[1]and apparently died 17 Mar 1867, Ashland, MA, aged 48 years 8 months 13 days, of consumption, cabinetmaker.[2]
Marriage intentions were published, 19 Apr 1845, New Bedford, MA, for him and Nancy C. Manchester,[3] daughter of Ellery and Nancy (Cory) Manchester. She was born 12 Feb 1825,[4] or ca. Jul 1825, Westport, MA, and died 19 Jun 1865, Boston, MA, aged 39 years 11 months, married.[5]

i. Florence N.9 Whitney, b. 19 Mar 1851, Chelsea, MA;[6] d. 10 Feb 1857, Ashland, MA, aged 5 years 11 months 10 days, of scarlet fever.[7]
