Benjamin Herd7 Whitney (Abijah6, Stephen5, John4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Abijah6 and Betsey7 (Whitney) Whitney, was born 15 Oct 1813, Lunenburg, MA, or -- Oct 1814;[1] and died 22 Jul 1878, Leominster, MA, aged 64 years 9 months, of apoplexy.[2] He was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster, MA.[3]

Butters, "both of Lunenburg".[4] He married firstly, 10 May 1836, Lunenburg, MA, Mary Butters,[5] daughter of Abel and Molly (Marshall) Butters. She was born 1815, Billerica, MA, and died 3 Oct 1840 or -- Oct 1839, Westminster, MA.[6] She was buried in North Cemetery, Lunenburg, MA.[7]
Marriage intentions were published 12 Nov 1844, Westminster, MA, for him and Sarah Phelps "of Luningburg".[8] Marriage intentions were published 12 Nov 1844, Lunenburg, MA, for him "of Westminster" and Sarah Phelps "of Lunenburg".[9] He married secondly, 28 Nov 1844, Lunenburg, MA, Sarah Phelps, daughter of Samuel and Sally (Brooks) Phelps.[10] She was born -- Mar 1812;[11] or 19 Mar 1812, Lexington or Brookline, MA, and died 29 Oct 1899, Leominster, MA, aged 87 years 7 months 10 days, of old age.[12] She was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster, MA.[13]
Benjamin H. Whitney, son of Abijah, and Betsey Whitney of Lunenburg, went to Westminster about 1836, and established the wheelwright business in the shop which stood near the site of the Baptist meetinghouse, his place of residence being on Bacon Street, where Israel Dickinson now lives. He married 2d, Sarah Phelps of Lunenburg. Resided Westminster and Lunenburg, MA.
