He "of Norwich" married 18 Oct 1743, Norwich, CT, Margaret Tracy "of Preston",^[4] daughter of Jedediah and Margaret (Rix) Tracy.^[5] She was born 27 Oct 1718, Preston, CT,^[6] and died unknown, possibly at Pottsville, PA.^[7]

DELORNE, of Sumter, S, C., is the following: "Peggy WHITNEY, her Bible, given her by her grandfather, Caleb WHITNEY and grandmother; Margaret WHITNEY, July 29, 1783. This book we gave to our son Jedediah, who was slain in battle. Aug, 28, 1783, a goldsmith by trade, in the 25th year of his age." He d. 28 Aug 1778, Norwich, CT.^[15]
