Cecil John Whitney (John, William, Thomas, Thomas), the son of John and Caroline (-----) Whitney, was born second quarter 1868, Weobley, Herefordshire, England, and died 1955, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England.

In 1891 he resided in Streatham, London, England where he worked as a cheese monger's assistant. In 1901 the family resided in Bury St Edmund, Suffolk, England where Cecil worked as a grocer & shopkeeper.

He married Jane Griffeth Shaw 18 Apr 1893, Brixton, Surrey, England.
