Chandler Whitney (Lemuel), son of Lemuel and Mary (-----) Whitney,[1] was born 20 Feb 1803, Royalston, MA,[2] and died 1 Feb 1862, Athol, MA, aged 57 years 11 months 19 days, of war, soldier, resided Petersham and Pittsfield.[3]

He married firstly, before 1826, Martha -----. She was born about 1796, and died 8 Jan 1848, Athol, MA, aged 52 years.[4]

He, of Athol, MA, married secondly, 24 Nov 1860, Vernon, VT, Meranda (McIntyre) Ellenwood of Reading, MA,[5] daughter of Aaron and Jerusha (Richardson) McIntyre. She was born 11 Mar 1820, Reading, MA, and "Miranda Whitney" died 28 Dec 1881, Wilton, NH, aged 61 years, of cancer.[6] She had married firstly, 20 Jan 1839, Reading, MA, Horatio Nelson Ellenwood. She married thirdly, 27 Apr 1862, Hardwick, MA, Isaac Pierce, both of Hardwick, son of William and Clarissa (-----) Pierce.[7] He had been born about 1818, Boston, MA.

i. Lucy Whitney, b. ca. Jan 1827, d. 19 Aug 1843, Athol, MA, aged 16 years 7 months, of consumption.[8]
