Charles Perrine⁸ Whitney (Ephraim Jefferson⁸, Bascom⁷ Whitney, Ephraim⁶, John⁵, John⁴, Joseph³, John², John¹), son of Ephraim Jefferson⁸ and Susan Jane (Perrine) Whitney, was born 24 Sep 1833, Lyons, NY, and died 28 Aug 1897, Lyons, NY. He was buried in South Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, NY.^[1]

He married firstly, 27 Aug 1856, Cuyahoga County, OH, Mary Lucretia Bingham,^[2] daughter of Silas Lee and Mary (Mansfield) Bingham. She was born 26 Apr 1838, Claremont, NH, and died 9 May 1888, Inwood on Hudson, NY.

He married secondly, 28 Jan 1890, New Haven, CT, Josephine Ward, daughter of Frederick Sherman and Mary Elizabeth (Stevens) Ward. She was born 21 Nov 1862, West Haven, CT, and died 31 Mar 1907, West Haven, CT. She was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Haven, CT.^[3]

ii.	Grace Mansfield Whitney, b. 3 Jun 1862, Cleveland, OH; d. 29 Dec 1904, New Bedford, MA, aged 42 years, of abscess of the liver;[4] bur. Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood, NJ;[5] m. 27 Aug 1881, Manhattan, NY, Edward Horace Cleveland, son of Horace Gillette and Anna Maria (Knapp) Cleveland.[6]
