Family:Whitney, Christopher (1782-1864)
Christopher7 Whitney (Christopher6, William5, William4, William3, Joshua2, John1), son of Christopher6 and Mary (Ticknor) Whitney, was born 12 Nov 1782, Tinmouth, VT, and died 19 Oct 1864.
He married Rhoda Wilder. She died 29 Dec 1856.
He had twelve children and at his death, 100 grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was a teacher and farmer. He resided Locke and Allegany, New York.

OH and for many years was sheriff of Scioto County. After his marriage he lived but a short time and died of heart disease. The widow m.(2) 14 Sep 1844, Portsmouth, OH, Henry Richard Charlesworth, b. 16 May 1820, London, England. Henry Richard Charlesworth m.(2) ca. 1855, Elmira Sweeten, and then m.(3) 1867, Delilah Sweeten, niece of his first wife. a. Oliver William Lindsey, b. -----; went west about 1854, after prospecting and mining for some years, he was appointed United States land agent at Prescott, AZ. b. H. Felecia Charlesworth, b. 23 Feb 1846; m. 3 Jun 1866, Percy E. Beckwith, b. 7 Sep 1841; d. 1874, leaving one son. She resided Ravenna, OH, and has been a teacher in the public schools for years. 1. Llewelyn B. Beckwith, b. -----; d. in infancy.
ix. Almira Whitney, b. 8 Apr 1823; m. H. Charlesworth. x. Polly Whitney, b. 8 Apr 1825. No further record found. xi. Harriett Whitney, b. 31 Aug 1827; m. James Dickenson. She left one child, b. 14 Jul 1852; m. 6 Aug 1881, Frank Cooledge; resided Olean, NY. xii. John Ticknor Whitney, b. 14 Mar 1830; m. Mandana McClure.
