Christopher Columbus7 Whitney (Catherine6, Ezekiel5, John4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Catherine6 Whitney by an unknown father, was born 13 Sep 1795, Watertown, MA, and died 24 Apr 1873, New Ipswich, NH, or 28 Apr 1873, Clinton, MA, aged 77 years 7 months 11 days, of stoppage of bowels.[1]

Marriage intentions were published 15 Sep 1820, Waltham, MA, for him and Betsey Putnam.[2] She was born 29 Aug 1801, and died 31 Jul 1861, New Ipswich, NH.

He married secondly, 2 Jan 1868, Clinton, MA, Susan P. (Cunningham)(Peabody) Fuller, daughter of John and Zipporah (Maynard) Cunningham. She was born about 18 Jan 1814, Winchester, NH,[3] or Spencer, MA, and died 1 Feb 1896, Pepperell, MA, aged 82 years 13 days, of old age and abscess of liver.[4] She had married firstly, 5 Aug 1845, Orange, MA, Jesse Chandler Fox Peabody. She had married secondly, 28 Mar 1861, Joseph Fuller.

"No complete record of the children of Ezekiel5 has been found, but according to tradition Christopher C. was his grandson and was cared for in childhood by an uncle, Leonard, whose name does not appear on the records. He came from Watertown, Mass., to New Ipswich soon after his marriage, and was engaged throughout his life as a machinist and overseer in the cotton factories of the town. He served in the War of 1812."

Susan P. Whitney applied for a pension for his service as Sergeant and Ensign, Capt. E. Thompson, 9th U. S. Infantry: Massachusetts; S.O. 1683; S.C. 827; W.O. 25256; W.C. 21479.

i. Christopher8 Whitney, b. 26 Oct 1822; d. 26 Feb 1823.
ii. Albert A. Whitney, b. 11 Apr 1824; d. 7 Jan 1895; m. 21 Oct 1846, Lucena Davis. He was a machinist in Battle Creek, MI.
iii. Mary A. Whitney, b. 3 May 1826; m. 21 Oct 1846, Frederic O. Flagg of Mason, b. 15 Jun 1821, d. 6 Aug 1871. He was a traveling salesman.
iv. Harriet C. Whitney, b. 3 Feb 1828; m. 5 Oct 1847, New Ipswich, NH, Calvin E. Searle,[5] b. 1825, d. 1903. Resided in New Ipswich, near the High Bridge.
v. Henry Isaacs Whitney, b. 17 Feb 1830; d. 5 May 1910; m.(1) Mary Ann Stanley of Dublin, d. 1888; m.(2) 1890, Sarah Jane (Messer) Gould of Washington. While yet a young man he removed to Mason Village, now Greenville, and there made his permanent abode except during two years during which he was associated with his brother Albert in Battle Creek, Mich. He was for many years a machinist and foreman of the machine shop connected with the cotton factories. He was a merchant from 1880 to 1895. He held the office of deputy sheriff for about forty years. He also served his town as selectman, treasurer, and representative.
vi. Helen T. Whitney, b. 28 Jun 1832, Clinton, MA; d. 17 Jul 1891, Chelsea, MA, aged 59 years, of cancer;[6] m.(1) Cordella Griswold, an overseer in the cotton factory; m.(2) Frederic Flagg.
vii. Elizabeth Whitney, b. 20 Jul 1834; d. 30 Sep 1835.
viii. Catherine A. Whitney, b. 21 May 1836; m. 12 Apr 1853, New Ipswich, NH, Lysander J. Cowdrey.[7]
ix. Adeline E. Whitney, b. 13 Dec 1838; m. George H. Evans of Hinsdale.
x. Emily L. Whitney, b. 9 Jan 1842; m. 7 Jun 1859, New Ipswich, NH, Frank J. Boynton[8] of Greenville.
