Daniel4 Whitney (Richard3, John2, Henry1), son of Richard3 and Hannah (Darling) Whitney,[1] was born 24 Apr 1723, Stratfield, CT,[2] and died after 1762, possibly after the Revolutionary War.[3]
He married, 7 Nov 1745, Stamford, CT, Hester Clawson,[4] daughter of Stephen and Abigail (Green) Clawson.[5] She was born about 1724, Stamford, CT,[6] and died after 1762.[7]

- ... a cooper. "Daniel Whitne and Hester Clason was married by ye Revnd. Mr. Ephraim Bostwick, pastor of the Church in Greenwich, on November ye 7th at evening, 1745." -- Stamford town records. She was a member of the first Congregational Church at Stamford. He settled at Stamford, about three-fourths of a mile west of the village, at the fork of the road called Dumpling Road, and there died of a cancer, after thirty years of suffering.
