David Merrill9 Whitney (William Ayers8, Moses7, Samuel6, Samuel5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of William Ayers8 and Cynthia (Merrill) Whitney, was born 16 Jun 1814, Marlboro, VT, and died 26 Sep 1896, Shelburne, MA, aged 82 years 3 months 7 days, of apoplexy, cutler.[1]
Intentions of marriage were published 20 Apr 1838, Greenfield, MA, for him and Emily Eddy "of Colerain".[2] He "of Greenfield" married 27 May 1837, Rowe, MA, Emily Eddy "of Colrain",[3] daughter of Joel and Olive (Lynde) Eddy. She was born 19 Jan 1810, Guilford, VT, and died 6 Feb 1902, Shelburne, MA, aged 93 years 18 days, of cancer of liver; buried Ames Cemetery.[4]
He resided Shelburne Falls, MA, wihout children.
