David William⁶ Whitney (David⁵, Matthias⁴, Cornelius³, Joshua², John¹), son of David⁵ and Mary (Glassford) Whitney, was born 10 Aug 1812, Upper Canada, and died 14 Jun 1889, Prescott, ON, aged 77 years. He was buried in Maynard Cemetery, Augusta, Leeds and Grenville United Counties, ON.^[1]

He married, 18 Mar 1833, Johnstown, Upper Canada, Sophronia Wood, both of Augusta, daughter of Anthony and Laura (Bennett) Wood. She was born 1815, ON, and died 1892. She was buried in Maynard Cemetery, Augusta, Leeds and Grenville United Counties, ON.^[2]
