Family:Whitney, Dexter (1817-1877)
Dexter8 Whitney (Ethan7, Hiram H.6, Henry5, Isaac4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), born 1817, Milford, MA,[1] and died 6 Feb 1877, Bellingham, MA, aged 59 years 9 months 15 days, of peritonitis.[2]
He married, 16 Sep 1839, Bellingham, MA, Adeliza Cook,[3] daughter of Stephen and Asenath (Bates) Cook. She was born 1812,[4] and died 27 May 1887, Bellingham, MA, aged 76 years 6 months, of cardiac embolism.[5]
Dexter Whitney was born in Milford, MA, but lived in Bellingham many years, and died there about 1877; by occupation he was a bootmaker. He married Adeliza Cook; they had three children; the daughter died in infancy; the second child was Henry A. Whitney, and the third, Lewis E., who was killed in the civil war. He was prominently connected with the Baptist church in Bellingham for many years. He resided Bellingham, MA.

Louis Edward Whitney, b. 12 Sep 1844, Bellingham, MA;[8] killed in the Civil War, d. 28 Feb 1865, recorded Bellingham, MA, aged 20 years 5 months, of wounds received in battle.[9]
