Edding Whitney, parentage unknown, was born say 1867, ME, and died after 1900.
He married about 1891, Louisa Alfreda Varnum/Farnham, daughter of Alden B. and Louisa P. (Quimby) Farnham. She was 10 Oct 1868, Orrington, ME, and died 18 Jun 1961. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Camden, ME. She married secondly, 7 Oct 1901, Rockport, ME, Joseph Chester Melvin, son of Daniel and Philena (Brown)) Melvin,[1] born 25 Dec 1879, Camden, ME, and died 1939. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Camden, ME.
He was a druggist.

i. Marion V. Whitney, b. Jan 1892, Phillips, ME; m. 2 Jun 1914, Warren, ME, Merton French, son of Fred M. and Margaret (Morton) French.[2]
Notes
His given name is found only in his daughter's marriage record.
Edding and Louisa may have divorced, since she was listed as married, not widowed, in 1900, but was living separately from him, and remarried using her maiden name just a year later.
It seems likely that he was the Edson Burton Whitney,9 son of George S.8 and Lucy Ann (Sweetser) Whitney, born 15 Apr 1870, Phillips, ME, who was a drug clerk in Boston, MA, in 1900, listed as single.
