He married, 10 May 1871, First Methodist Protestant Church, Newark, NJ, Alice Hathaway, daughter of Thomas and Esther Angeline (Baker) Hathaway. She was born 10 Nov 1850, Brooklyn, Kings Co., NY, and died after 1880.
Phoenix says the following:
- ". . . a book-keeper . . . . They lived at 27 Pacific Street, Newark, till 1 Ap. 1874, and then moved to 83 Prospect Street."
