Elijah Whitney (Arthur J., (prob.) Francis), son of Arthur J. and Anna Rowls Whitney, was born 1822, MS, and died after 1860.
He married 13 Jul 1856, Drew County, AR, Nancy M. Caralton. She was born 1805, AR, and died after 1860.
Children of Elijah and Nancy M. (Caralton) Whitney:
i. Josiah Whitney, b. ca. 1857, AR. Also known as Joseph or J. S. Whitney. ii. Rhoda E. Whitney, b. ca. 1858, AR, m. 4 Nov 1880, Drew Co., AR, John H. Mannix. iii. Palinick Whitney, b. ca. 1860, AR. iv. Jake Whitney, b. 1862, AR. v. Samuel T. Whitney, b. 1866, AR; m. Louanna E. Winchester.
Notes
Due to the skip in the 1870 census, we can't be for sure, but it is likely that any children born after Palinick belonged to Elijah Whitney and his wife Nancy. His wife is listed as Lizer, but since some of the ages are a little off, this could be wrong as well.
