Elisha6 Whitney (Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Samuel5 and Abigail (Fletcher) Whitney, was born 2 Jul 1757, Westminster, MA,[1] and died between 1800 and 1810, probably Peru, VT.
He married, 27 Dec 1781, Westminster, MA, Eunice Seaver,[2] daughter of Norman and Sarah (Read) Seaver. She was born 3 May 1755, Sudbury, MA, and died after 1810, probably Peru, VT.
He served in the Revolutionary army in the company commanded by Capt. Sargent; resided Westminster and Winchendon, MA.

i. Orpha7 Whitney, b. 24 Sep 1783;[3] d. 1837; m. 1801, Peru, VT, Cyrus Staples. ii. Joseph Whitney, b. 22 Feb 1784 [sic] or 1785;[4] m. Abigail Townes. iii. Sarah Whitney, b. 26 Nov 1787;[5] d. 11 May 1789, Westminster, MA, aged 1 year 5 months 5 days.[6] iv. Tryphena Whitney, b. 18 Jun 1788;[7] d. 14 May 1810; m. ca. 1807, Moses Kilham. v. Tryphosa Whitney, b. 2 Mar 1790.[8] In 1850 and 1860, she was enumerated in Putney, Windham Co., VT with her brother Norman. In Mar 1850, she was admitted to the church in Putney from that in Chester, VT. vi. Norman Sever Whitney, b. 22 May 1791;[9] m. Melinda Bachelder.
