On 30 Nov 1801, Watertown, MA, Grace Whitney, aged 12, and Elisha Whitney, aged 9, requested Nathaniel R. Whitney be appointed their guardian; on 4 May 1804, Watertown, MA, certificate of minor's nomination of Nathaniel R. Whitney as guardian was recorded; on 4 May 1804, Watertown, MA, Nathaniel R. Whitney was named guardian of Elisha Whitney, minor under 14, son of Deacon Daniel Whitney, deceased.[6]
