Family:Whitney, Elizabeth (1721-1764)

Elizabeth⁴ Whitney (David³, Joshua², John¹), daughter of David³ and Elizabeth (Warren) Whitney,^[1] was born 26 Feb 1720/1, Plainfield, CT,^[2] and died 4 Jun 1764, Canaan, CT, aged 43 years.^[3]

She "of Plainfield" married 18 Apr 1739, Preston, CT, Elijah Stanton "of Preston",^[4] son of Thomas and Anna (Stanton) Stanton.^[5] He was born 28 Mar 1715, Preston, CT,^[6] and died (as "Capt.") 13 Jan 1761, Great Barrington, MA, in his 45th year.^[7]

His daughter Sarah was "of Salisbury" at marriage, so the family probably lived in that town, as well as Preston, Sheffield, Great Barrington, and Canaan.

vi.	David Stanton, b. 22 May 1757, Sheffield, MA;[13] m. Olive Galusha.
vii.	Solomon Stanton, b. 30 Nov 1760, Sheffield, MA;[14] m. Polly Spofford.
