Francis6 Whitney (Jonathan5, James4, Joseph3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Jonathan5 and Abigail (Hemminway) Whitney, was born 17 Jun or 17 Sep 1776, Fitzwilliam, NH,[1] and died 1 Jun 1842, Lisbon, NY.
He married, date and place unknown, Sarah -----. She was born about 1786, VT, and died 22 Oct 1875.
They are buried in Bacon Cemetery, West Potsdam, NY.

Notes
Several otherwise unplaced Whitney persons in Potsdam and Lisbon, NY, could be his children. In particular, a widow Sally Whitney, 62, and son Franklin, 28, both born in VT, could be his widow and a son.
