Family:Whitney, Franklin (c1797-1863)
Franklin Whitney, parentage unknown, was born about 1797, Dummerston, VT, and died 12 Jan 1863, Nashua, NH, aged 66 years, of pneumonia.[1]
He married Fanny Farr, daughter of Ebenezer and Sarah (Wheeler) Farr. She was born 12 Jan 1800, Chesterfield or Littleton, NH, and died 2 Dec 1871, Nashua, NH, aged 72 years.[2] She was a granddaughter of Ebenezer and Mary (Titus) Farr, and so also a Whitney descendant.

Notes
The male 70-79 in his family in 1830 (so b. 1750-1760) might be his father or father-in-law.
It is possible that he was the son born 1790-1800 of Benjamin6 Whitney (1752-a1810) of Dummerston, VT.
Three possible marriage records for Charles H. Whitney are found which may apply to his son. The first is C. H. Whitney, m. 11 Jun 1853, Nashua, NH, Ellen E. Packard,[19] daughter of Erastus and Nancy (Nelson) Packard. The second is Charles H. Whitney, m. 24 Jun 1858, Nashua, NH, Malinda M. Cook,[20]. The third is Charles H. Whitney, m. 24 Jun 1858, Nashua, NH, Mary E. Wadleigh.[21] I am unable to resolve the confusion as to which record applies to this son. I cannot find Charles in censuses after 1850, or to find a record of his death.
