Family:Whitney, George (c1574-a1634)
George Whitney, Gent., parentage unknown but perhaps descended from George and Julian (-----) Whitney. He was probably the "Geo. Whitney, of Icombe, Worcs., gent. Aged 52" who was a deponent in a Chancery deposition in 1626, making him born circa 1574.[1]
He married ----- Savage of Worcestershire. Were they the "George Whitney, Gent. and Mris. Mary [?Sabedy]" who were married at Icomb, 6 Feb 1608?[2] Apparently the name "Sabedy" is difficult to read in the parish register.
In 1595 he and his brother-in-law Thomas Mill were involved in a lawsuit against their cousin Eustace Whitney.
In 1620 he was involved in a lawsuit brought by Edward Sheldon, Esq.
He was of Icomb, Gloucestershire.

William Whitney, b. ca. 1621, matriculated Pembroke College, Oxford University, 13 Mar 1639/40, age 19, as son of "George Whittney of Icombe, co. Gloucester, gent."[3] iii. Courteene Whitney, bp. 3 Jul 1625, Church Iccombe, Gloucestershire, England. iv. Grace Whitney, bp. 11 Dec 1626, Church Iccombe, Gloucestershire, England. v. Huband Whitney (daughter), bp. 9 Mar 1627, Church Iccombe, Gloucestershire, England. vi. Huband Whitney (son), bp. 7 Oct 1629, Church Iccombe, Gloucestershire, England. vii. Julian Whitney, bp. 28 Sep 1631, Church Iccombe, Gloucestershire, England. She was buried Dec, 1634. viii. Walter Whitney, bp. 24 Sep 1634, Church Iccombe, Gloucestershire, England.
Notes
Huband is a surname, with some members located in Worcestershire, England. Could either George or Mary's mother have been a Huband?
