George Gale7 Whitney (Stephen6, Samuel5, John4, Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of Stephen6 and Sally (Finney) Whitney, was born 23 Oct 1817, Henderson, NY, and died after 1880.
He married, 16 Nov 1845, Henderson, NY, Sally McNitt (Hawkins) Becker, daughter of Hon. Joseph and Pamelia (Penny) Hawkins. She was born 16 Nov 1819, Henderson, NY, and died after 1880. She had married firstly Dr. Walter Becker.
Phoenix says the following:
- ". . . a farmer . . . . They lived at Henderson in 1874, on the same farm where he was born and which his father occupied before him."

Ella Whitney, b. 25 Oct 1849; d. after 1874; m. 25 Dec 1871, Henderson, NY, Charles Justus Jenks, son of Justus Harvey and Anna Louisa (Snow) Jenks, b. 7 Jul 1845, Marshall, NY; a farmer. They dwelt, for a year after marriage, in the city of Jackson, MI; lived for ten months in Henderson, NY; then settled in Denton, MI, and from there returned to Jackson, 1 Sep 1874. He was, for two years, deputy-sheriff in Jackson. He was a descendant of Henry1 Whitney in two ways, his maternal grandmother being Anna (Whitney) Snow), daughter of Samuel and Mary (St. John) Whitney. iv. Wortley Whitney, b. 25 Mar 1851; m. Catharine Barney. v. Lucy Whitney, b. 23 Mar 1853; m. 23 Dec 1873, Henderson, NY, Quartus Mathews Searl, son of Gilbert and Jennette (Mathews) Searl, b. 30 Mar 1853, Lowville, NY; a farmer. They were living at West Lowville in 1874. vi. Frederick Whitney, b. 13 Apr 1855; lived at Henderson, NY, with his parents, in 1874. vii. Gilbert Whitney, b. 13 Dec 1856; lived at Henderson, NY, with his parents, in 1874. viii. Harley Whitney, b. 29 Aug. 1858; d. 1860, Henderson, NY, where he was buried. ix. Minnie Whitney, b. 4 May 1862. x. Nettie Whitney, b. 17 Aug 1864. xi. Harley Whitney, b. 26 Jun 1866.
