George W.8 Whitney (Leonard7, Solomon6, Solomon5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of [[Leavitt C.7 and Nancy S. (Sargent) Whitney, was born 16 Jul 1841, Canterbury or Boscawen, NH, and died 17 Feb 1903.
He married firstly, 24 May 1870, Concord, NH, Victoria J. G. Moore,[1] daughter of Matthias M. and Harriet (Philbrick) Moore. She was born about 1842, Canterbury, NH, and died after 1910. Apparently George and Victoria were divorced. In 1880, he claimed to be widowed, but Victoria G. Moore is listed separately in the 1880 census, and under her maiden name she married secondly, 13 Nov 1881, NH, William H. Fowler.
He married secondly, 25 May 1881, Fisherville or Penacook, NH, Eunice (Chandler) Rivers,[2] dau. of Samuel and Maria G. (-----) Chandler. She was born about 1859, Sherville, NH. Apparently George and Eunice were divorced, and she married secondly 1 Feb 1886, Andover, NH, Orra N. Crosby.[3]
