Gershom Turney7 Whitney (Ephraim6, Aaron5, Samuel4, Richard3, John2, Henry1), son of Ephraim6, was born 9 May 1812, Patterson, NY, and died after 1874.
He married firstly, Sarah Davis, daughter of Matthew Davis.
He married secondly, Sarah -----, b. ca. 1807, NY.
Phoenix says the following:
- They moved to Mexico, Ohio; and thence to Kansas Station, Ohio; where he was living, with a second wife, in 1874, but could not be induced to furnish any records.

George Whitney. v. William H. Whitney, b. ca. 1848, NY; m. 9 Dec 1868, Wyandot Co., OH, Mary Emma Smith. vi. Joseph Whitney, b. Feb 1852, NY; m.(1) Sarah Salinda Kinsey; m.(2) Rosa Ann Baker.
