Family:Whitney, Henry (c1840-a1880)

Henry Whitney, parentage unknown, was born about 1840, Hoosick, NY, and died after 1880.

He "of Hoosac" married, 19 Jan 1861, Adams, MA, Jane Rice "of Cheshire", daughter of David and Abigail (Robinson) Rice.[1] She was born about 1842, and died before 1870.

He married secondly, before 1870, Minnie L. Hulbert, daughter of Christopher and Sophronia (Parsons) Hulbert. She was born about 1849-1850, MA, and died 29 Mar 1907, Adams, MA, aged 57 years, of septicaemia.[2] She was buried in the Maple Street Cemetery, Adams, MA, but no gravestone is found for her.

Children of Henry and Jane (Rice) Whitney:

i. George Whitney, b. ca. 1862, MA; d. after 1870.

Henry and Minnie L. (Hulburt) Whitney had no children.

The "son" Charles Griswold from the 1880 census must be a foster son or adopted.
