Family:Whitney, Henry Fitch (1810-1853)
Henry Fitch7 Whitney (Henry6, John5, Abraham4, Joseph3, John2, Henry1), son of Henry6, was born 13 Nov 1810, Wilton, CT, and died 2 Mar 1853, East St. Louis, IL. He was buried in Lebanon, IL, near his second wife.
He married firstly, New Baltimore, OH, Harriet Culverson.
He married secondly, 6 Feb 1842, Lebanon, IL, Ann Williams. She died 10 Jan 1843, Lebanon, IL, and was buried there.
He married thirdly, 3 Mar 1844, St. Clair Co., IL, Cynthia Carillane. She deserted him, and he was afterwards divorced from her.
Phoenix says the following:
- "... a blacksmith .... He settled in East St. Louis, Ill., and there died 2 March 1853, and was buried in Lebanon, Ill., near his second wife."
Child of Henry Fitch7 and Harriet (Culverson) Whitney:
i. William Henry8 Whitney. Nothing is known of him, except that he joined the Union Army, and was killed in the battle of Shiloh, Apr 1862.
Child of Henry Fitch7 and Ann (Williams) Whitney:
ii. (son)8 Whitney, b. Jan 1843, Lebanon, IL; d. Jan 1843, Lebanon, IL, aged a few days, and was buried there with his mother.
Children of Henry Fitch7 and Cynthia (Carillane) Whitney:
iii. George Henry8 Whitney, b. 23 Jan 1845, East St. Louis, IL; d. 19 Sep 1868, Franklin, MO, and was buried there. iv. Francis Whitney, b. 1 Oct 1847, East St. Louis, IL; d. 27 May 1851.
