He married, before 1864, Elizabeth Frances Lord. She was born about 1846, Danforth, ME, and died after 1880.

iii.	Henry Whitney, b. ca. 1868, ME; d. aft. 1880.
iv.	Lillian Whitney, b. Apr 1870, ME; d. aft. 1880.
v.	Harry M. Whitney, b. 27 Aug 1871, Bancroft, ME;[1] not in family in 1880; d. aft. 1940, then unmarried; lived with sister Evelyn in 1910, 1920, and 1940.
vi.	Evelyn Arleen Whitney, b. ca. 1874, Weston, ME; m. 14 Apr 1904, Boston, MA, Frederick W. McWaters, b. ca. 1874, Scotland, son of John and Catherine (Wells) McWatters.[2]
