Henry Payson8 Whitney (John7, John6, Elijah5, Daniel4, John3, John2, John1), son of John7 and Abigail (Foster) Whitney,[1] was born 5 Sep 1820, Warwick, MA,[2] and died 10 Oct 1896, Maple Grove, Hennepin Co., MN.[3]

He married 20 Jan 1850, Alexander, Washington Co., ME,[4] Margaret Hall Bohanon, daughter of Ananiah Bohanon, Jr. She was born 21 May 1824, Alexander, ME, and died 25 Oct 1915 Maple Grove, MN

They lived Alexander, ME; Princeton, ME; Boston, MA; Vassalboro, ME; Brooklyn Twp, MN; and Maple Grove, MN. He preferred to be called H. P., and signed all documents in that manner. He was a Justice of the Peace in Alexander, ME, 6 May 1853.[5] He was the Assessor of Alexander, ME 1860, and the Moderator of the 1860 town meeting. He was a teacher, book agent, farmer. April 1871, H. P. left his family in Vassalboro, ME, and removed to Brooklyn Twp, MN. where he established a farm and built a home prior to sending for them in 1873. He was the town clerk for Brooklyn, MN, and various town documents, deeds, and legal papers bear his signature.

In 1866 he was a salesman living at 76 Fayette St., Boston, MA.

iii. Abigail Elizabeth Whitney, b. 9 Apr 1854, Alexander, ME; d. 12 Sep 1863, Alexander, ME.
iv. Amelia Eliza Whitney, b. 3 Mar 1856, Alexander, ME; d. Sep 1863, Alexander, ME.
v. Sarah Agnes Whitney, b. 1 Mar 1858, Alexander, ME; d. 13 Jun 1940, Minneapolis, MN; m. 1876, George W. Savage. He was b. 1844, Lewanee, MI; d. 1909 Osseo, MN.
vi. Mary Almira Whitney, b. 24 May 1860, Alexander, ME; d. 28 Sep 1941, Maple Grove, MN; m. 26 Oct 1887, Maple Grove, MN, Gideon Morris Henry. He was b. 1858, Orange Twp, OH; d. 1935, Maple Grove, MN.
vii. Margaret Angelia Whitney, b. 9 Oct 1863, Alexander, ME; d. 26 Mar 1890, Maple Grove, MN; m. 6 Oct 1888, Minneapolis, MN, Richard Thompson. He was b. 1860, MN; d. 1958, Robbinsdale, MN.
viii. Julia Ardelle Whitney, b. 15 Sep 1866, Boston, MA;[6] d. 28 Apr 1942, Maple Grove, MN; m. 28 Feb 1889, Maple Grove, MN, Rudolph Jacob Setzler. He was b. 1864, Maple Grove, MN; d. 1946, Maple Grove, MN.
