He married, 14 Nov 1913, Ina Belle Coons, dau. of William D. and Ella Desire (Mattoon) Coons. She was born 24 Jul 1888, Shandaken, NY, and died before 1988.

i. Sarah June Whitney, b. 14 Jun 1914, Kingston, NY; m. 28 Mar 1937, Kingston, NY, William Eau Gildersleeve; res. Marion, OH. ii. William Hiram Whitney, b. 4 May 1918, Kingston, NY; m. Constance Whitcomb. A descendant is Susan Gray.
