Jacob Ames7 Whitney (Jeremiah6, (poss.) John5, (poss.) Samuel4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Jeremiah6 and Lydia (Cole) Whitney, was born 9 Feb 1802, possibly Greene, ME, and died 13 Oct 1852, Carthage, ME, aged 50 years 8 months. He was buried in the Newman Cemetery, Carthage, ME.

He married, 21 Oct 1828, Weld, ME, Rhoda Dale Hutchinson, daughter of Ebenezer and Rhoda (Dale) Hutchinson. She was born 18 Oct 1804, Weld, ME, and died after 1880. She married secondly, 24 Nov 1859, Weld, ME, Nathan B. Judkins.

iii. Amasa H. Whitney, b. 27 Jul 1834, ME; not found in 1850.
iv. Lucy B. Whitney, b. 4 Nov 1836; apparently d. young.
v. Jacob A. Whitney, b. 11 Sep 1838, ME; d. 30 Mar 1876; m. 21 Nov 1868, Elvira N. Parker, b. ca. 1845, d. 3 Feb 1932.
vi. Lucy B. Whitney, b. 8 Nov 1844, ME; d. 4 Sep 1859, Carthage, ME,[1] aged 14 years 10 months; buried Newman Cemetery, Carthage, ME.
