(Cornelius⁵, Matthias⁴, Cornelius³, Joshua², John¹), son of Cornelius⁵ and Elizabeth (May) Whitney, was born 27 Aug 1779, Killingly, CT, and died Mar 1817.

He married, 1800, Wells, VT, Betsey Law, daughter of John Law. She was born 1779, and died 26 May 1863, Pavilion, NY. She married secondly, Mexico, NY, Luther Evarts. He was born 27 Aug 1793, Hartford, CT, and died 2 Aug 1873, Angelica, NY. He was a carpenter.

James was a carpenter. He resided Granville and Mexico, NY.
