James1 Whitney (John), son of John and Hannah (-----) Whitney, born circa Mar 1841, Leftwich, Cheshire, England, and died after 1910, probably Worcester Co., MA.
He married, before 1866, Ann Tomkins. She was born circa 1843, Winsford, Cheshire, England, and died before 1900.
In 1851 he resided in Castle Northwich Township (now part of Northwich), Cheshire, England with his parents.
In 1861 he was a unmarried saddler lodging in Runcorn.
In 1871 he resided in Runcorn with his family and a domestic servant.
In 1881 he resided in Runcorn with his family and was a harness maker.
In 1891 he resided in Runcorn with his family and was a saddler.
In 1900 he resided in Lowell, Middlesex Co., MA, with his son John and daughter Florence. James was at that time a widower.
In 1910 he resided in Fitchburg, Worcester Co., MA with his son John.
