Family:Whitney, James Davis (1814-1886)

James Davis⁷ Whitney (Henry⁶, John⁵, Abraham⁴, Joseph³, John², Henry¹), son of Henry⁶, was born 22 Jun 1814, Wilton, CT, and died 16 Aug 1886, Logan Co., OH, aged 72 years 1 month 24 days. He was buried in Rea Cemetery, Logan Co., OH.^[1]

He married, Apr 1834, Licking County, OH, Hannah Pugh, daughter of Abram and Sarah (Asbury) Pugh, of Virginia. She was born 13 Oct 1814, Licking Co., OH, and died 11 Sep 1899, Bloomfield, OH, aged 84 years. She was buried in Rea Cemetery, Logan Co., OH.^[2]

Phoenix says the following:

". . . a farmer . . . . They lived in Kirkersville, Ohio, for seven years, and then settled in Bloomfield, Ohio, where they were living in 1873."

iii.	Henry Whitney, b. 9 Apr 1840, Kirkersville, OH; m. Elizabeth Ann Duckworth.
iv.	Leander Whitney, b. 10 May 1842, Kirkersville, OH; m.(1) Sarah Jane Wright; m.(2) Elizabeth (Baber) Kelly.
v.	Lucy Grumman Whitney, b. 21 Feb 1844, Bloomfield, OH; d. 7 Dec 1923; bur. Rea Cemetery, Logan Co., OH;[3] m. 23 Dec 1866, Logan Co., OH, Thomas McIntyre Terrell; resided Quincy, OH, in 1873.
vi.	Reason Whitney, b. 1 Dec 1845, Bloomfield, OH; d. after 1940, when residing in Bryan, Cotton Co., OK; m. 16 Mar 1870 or 1871, Harrison, OH, Sarah Ellen Moore, daughter of James and Happy (Cornell) Moore, b. 7 Oct 1849, Harrison, OH. They settled in Bloomfield, and were living there in 1873.
