James Davis7 Whitney (Henry6, John5, Abraham4, Joseph3, John2, Henry1), son of Henry6, was born 22 Jun 1814, Wilton, CT, and died 16 Aug 1886, Logan Co., OH, aged 72 years 1 month 24 days. He was buried in Rea Cemetery, Logan Co., OH.[1]
He married, Apr 1834, Licking County, OH, Hannah Pugh, daughter of Abram and Sarah (Asbury) Pugh, of Virginia. She was born 13 Oct 1814, Licking Co., OH, and died 11 Sep 1899, Bloomfield, OH, aged 84 years. She was buried in Rea Cemetery, Logan Co., OH.[2]
Phoenix says the following:
- ". . . a farmer . . . . They lived in Kirkersville, Ohio, for seven years, and then settled in Bloomfield, Ohio, where they were living in 1873."

Reason Whitney, b. 1 Dec 1845, Bloomfield, OH; d. after 1940, when residing in Bryan, Cotton Co., OK; m. 16 Mar 1870 or 1871, Harrison, OH, Sarah Ellen Moore, daughter of James and Happy (Cornell) Moore, b. 7 Oct 1849, Harrison, OH.
