James H. Whitney (John), son of John and Catherine Jane (Sharer) Whitney, was born about 1853, KY, and died before 1900.

He married, 2 Aug 1872, Pike Co., IN, Hannah Merilla Marsh,^[1] daughter of Hugh and Mary Ann (-----) Marsh. She was born Apr 1855, IN, and died after 1920.
