James Odell9 Whitney (Samuel H.8, (Stephen7, Samuel6, Abner5, John4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Samuel H.8 and Allura H. (Preston) Whitney, was born Jun 1863, Salem, ME, nd died after 1900.

He married 16 Jun 1896, Nashua, NH , Harriet Ingham,[1] daughter of George and Ann (Beaumont) Ingham of Bristol, England. She was born 14 Nov 1876, Bristol, England, and died 21 Feb 1938, Derry, NH. She married secondly, Derry, NH, 22 Feb 1923, George Manuel. She was buried in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem, MA.

ii. Casper Elmer Whitney, b. 2 Oct 1898, Nashua, NH; d. Jul 1968. He resided in Minneapolis and Edina, MN.
iii. Charles Henry Whitney, b. 4 Jan 1900, Keene, NH; d. 27 Jan 1900, Keene, NH.
iv. Parker Odell Whitney, b. 17 Feb 1905, Nashua, NH; d. 7 Dec 1993, last residing in Derry, NH; m. 3 Sep 1928, Springfield, NH, Celia H. Gardner, b. ca. 1902, New London, NH, dau. of Guy H. and Cora (Cutter) Gardner.
