Jason8 Whitney (Ohio7, Silas6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Ohio7 and Mary (Bolton) Whitney, was born 10 Feb 1811, Ashburnham, MA,[1] and died 16 May 1880, Westminster, MA, aged 69 years of brights of kidney.[2]

He married firstly, 4 May 1836, Ashburnham, MA, Elizabeth Laws Sampson,[3] daughter of Jonathan and Betsey (Gibbs) Sampson. She was born 2 Nov 1818, Winchendon, MA, and died 5 Sep 1841, Ashburnham, MA, aged 22 years 10 months 3 days.[4]

He married secondly, 16 Aug 1842, Ashburnham, MA, Susan Elvira Barrell "of Montpelier, Vt."[5] She was born 12 May 1816, Montpelier, VT, or about 1820, Berlin, VT, and died 3 Apr 1857. Ashburnham, MA, aged 36 years, of consumption.[6]

He married thirdly, 14 Nov 1859, Hinesburg, VT, Esther Ball of Hinesburg, VT, daughter of Jesse and Charity (Carpenter) Ball.[7] She was born 20 Sep 1821, North Ferrisburg, VT, and died 7 Dec 1877, Ashburnham, MA, aged 56 years 2 months 15 days, of rose cancer.[8]

He resided Westminster, MA.

i. Sarah B.9 Whitney, b. 29 Jul 1837; d. 2 Aug 1858; m. 18 May 1858, or 13 Jun 1858, Henry G. Thomas, b. ca. 1833, CT, son of James Thomas.[9] Was killed at battle of Cold Harbor in 21st New Hampshire Regiment, 2 Jun 1864.
ii. Emma E. Whitney, b. 17 Jan 1839, Ashburnham, MA; d. 22 Oct 1908, Ashburnham, MA, aged 69 years 9 months 7 years, of chronic parenchymatous nephritis;[10] m. 3 Jul 1861, Fitzwilliam, NH (also recorded Ashburnham, MA), George A. Stone, b. ca. 1843, Fitzwilliam, NH, son of A. and Loeyer L. (-----) Stone;[11] resided Fitzwilliam, NH. Child of John McGary "loafer & scoundrel" and Emma E. Whitney:

iii. Charles W. Whitney, b. 7 Dec 1840; m. Ruana Barrell.

vi. Mary C. Whitney, b. 5 Nov 1847, Ashburnham, MA;[16] d. 3 Oct 1848, Ashburnham, MA,[17] or "S. W.", 1 Oct 1848, Ashburnham, MA, aged 10 months 20 days, of dysentery.[18]
vii. Jason W. Whitney, b. 18 Jun 1849, Ashburnham, MA;[19] d. 11 Sep 1849, Ashburnham, MA, aged 2 months 15 days, of dysentery.[20]
viii. Abbie E. Whitney, b. 5 Sep 1852, Ashburnham, MA;[21] d. 17 Sep 1854, Ashburnham, MA, aged 2 years, of worms.[22]
ix. Aaron Ferdinand Whitney, b. 29 Aug 1854, Ashburnham, MA; m. Almira Sophia Gleason.

Jason8 and Esther (Ball) Whitney had no children.
