Jeffrey3 Whitney (David2, Samuel1), son of David2 and Martha (-----) Whitney, was born about Jan 1674/5, "January the 16th 1675 was Baptised Jeffere and Ruth the son and daughter of David an Martha Whitney", and died between 16 Jun 1761 when he made his unsigned will, and 10 Sep 1766 when it was probated.[1]

He is mentioned in the will of Mary Whitney (his brother David's widow) as having had children.

He was listed on the 1727 assessment list as residing in Pembroke.

On 6 Jan 1732 he was a witness to the will of John Robinson, of Pembroke Parish, Bermuda.[2]

He was apparently the man listed variously as "Mr Jeffrey Whitney", "Mr Jeffory Whittney", and "Mr Geoffry Whitney" who served as a juror on three cases held "Att his Majesties Court of Assize, Oyer and Terminer, General Gaol Delivery and Comon pleas held for these Islands at the Sessions House in the Town of St Georges on Monday the third day of June 1734".[3]

On 2 Feb 1741 he was a witness to the will of Thomas Burton, of Pembroke Parish, Bermuda.[4]

On 16 Jun 1761, Jeffrey Whitney, mariner, apparently "ill and weak, and aggravated by his son William", made his unsigned will, listing his children David, John, William, and Samuel, as well as grandsons Edward, son of William, and Samuel, son of Samuel, and his son-in-law Daniel Harvey. A bequest was made to Susanna Sears. The executors were William Pitt, William Swan, Thomas Gauntlett. There were no witnesses, but an affidavit was made by William Swan, Thomas Gauntlett, Mary Savage (wife of Thomas). The will was probated 10 Sep 1766.[5]
