He married, 31 Dec 1858, West Camp, NY, Isabella Cuscading Lester, daughter of Jacob and Mary (Adams) Lester. She was born about 1842, West Camp, NY, and died after 1900.

Phoenix says the following:

". . . a gardener . . . . They were living at Saugerties, N.Y., in Nov. 1873."
