Jerome⁸ Whitney (Lyman⁷, Phinehas⁶, Joshua⁵, Nathaniel⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Lyman⁷ and Maria (Jerome) Whitney, was born 23 May 1811, and died 19 Oct 1870. He is buried in Oswego Bitter Cemetery, Camillus, NY.

He married, about 1838, Manlius, NY, Catherine Hungerford, daughter of Stephen and Relief (Richardson) Hungerford. She was born 3 Nov 1817, Fairfield Park, Cumberland Co., NJ, and died 29 Sep 1879. She is buried in Oswego Bitter Cemetery, Camillus, NY.
