Joanna⁵ Whitney (Abel⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), daughter of Abel⁴ and Mary (Cane) Whitney, was born 27 Sep 1749, York, ME,^[1] and died circa 1832, Hanover, NH.

She married, 31 Dec 1769, Gorham, ME, Caleb Chase,^[2] son of Joseph and Mary (Morse) Chase. He was born 28 Jul 1746, Newbury, MA, and died 13 Feb 1810 in Thornton, NH. He is buried in the Mad River Cemetery in Thornton.

iv.	William Hills Chase, b. 11 Apr 1776, Gorham, ME; d. 10 Oct 1791.
v.	Jacob Chase, b. 11 Feb 1778, Gorham, ME; m. Hannah Colby 5 Mar 1801, Thornton, NH; d. 23 Dec 1858.
vi.	Amos Chase, b. 4 Aug 1780, Concord, NH; m. Polly Chandler 1 Jan 1806, Thornton, NH; d. 26 Feb 1859.
vii.	Susannah Chase, b. 28 May 1782, Concord, NH; m. John Worth 15 Nov 1804, Thornton, NH; d. circa 1805.
viii.	Joanna Chase, b. 8 Apr 1784, Concord, NH; m. Charles Worthen 6 Nov 1804, Concord, NH; d. 24 Apr 1867, Concord, NH.
