Joel Newbury7 Whitney (Daniel6, Abijah5, Daniel4, Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of Daniel6 and Lydia (Newbury) Whitney, was born 11 Nov 1808, Pawling, NY, and died after 1880.

He married, 30 Oct 1838, Orange, NY, Caroline Andrews, daughter of Orrin and Martha (Hooper) Andrews, and granddaughter of Col. Lawrence and Caroline (Hoos) Hooper, and of Zenas Andrews, a soldier in the Revolutionary War. She was born 7 Oct 1819, Ballston, NY, and died after 1880.

Phoenix says the following:

". . . a farmer and, for five years, a teacher . . . . They were still living, in Feb. 1875, at Enfield, N.Y., where he settled with his father, in Oct. 1817."

Children of Joel Newbury7 and Caroline (Andrews) Whitney, all born Enfield, NY:

i. Sarah8 Whitney, b. 26 Mar 1840; d. the same day, and was buried in Enfield, Centre.
ii. Marvin Whitney, b. 1 Jan 1842; d. 22 feb 1842, and was buried in Enfield, Centre.
iii. Almina Nichols Whitney, b. 6 Oct 1844; m. 7 Nov 1868, Enfield, NY, Harris Irving Smith, son of Obadiah and Anna (Culver) Smith, b. 24 Sep 1838, Enfield, NY. They settled in Enfield, and were living there in Feb 1875.
iv. Charles Joel Whitney, b. 6 Mar 1850; and was living there, with his father, in Feb 1875, unmarried.
