Family:Whitney, Johannes Jesaias (s1765-a1793)
Johannes Jesaias Whitney, parentage unknown, was born say 1765, and died after 1793.
If the Dutch naming practice was being used in the church records of the baptisms of his children, then his father's name would be Jesaias, or Josiah. If the German naming practice was in use, then Johannes would be a baptismal name only, and his own name used in everyday events would be Josiah. The census records call him John, so the latter is unlikely. There is no father-son pair named Josiah and John found among the WRG records, so who his parents were is a mystery.
He married, before 1787, Anna -----, of whom nothing is known.
