Jump to navigationJump to searchJohn6 Whitney (Justus5, Daniel4, Richard3, John2, Henry1), son of Justus5 and Nancy (Lines) Whitney, was born 1 Aug 1786, Stamford, CT,[1] and died after 1820.
He married, 16 Oct 1808, First Dutch Reformed Church, Albany, NY, Rachel Bown/Bounds, daughter of ----- and ----- (Vanderheiden) Bown/Bounds.
Phoenix says the following:
- "John Whitney, b. at Stamford, Conn., 1 Aug. 1786; married Rachel Bown, whose mother was a Vanderheiden, of Albany, N. Y., where he lived till after her death, when he returned to Stamford. He served in the war of 1812. His wife died at Albany, N. Y., soon after their son was born."

i. John William7 Whitney, b. 15 Sep 1810, Albany, NY; d. 22 Jun 1864, Brooklyn, NY; m. 15 Aug 1831, Albany, NY, Rachel Matilda Brooks.
