John Whitney (David), son of David and Susannah (-----) Whitney, was baptized 23 Jan 1791, Orcop, Herefordshire, England. He died sometime between 1851 and 1861, probably in St. Weonards, Herefordshire, England.
He married Elizabeth -----. She was born about 1801, Orcop, Herefordshire, England.
In 1841, the family resided at St. Weonards where John worked as an agricultural laborer. In 1851, the family resided at St. Weonards where John worked as an agricultural laborer and Elizabeth worked as a seamstress. In 1861, Elizabeth was the head of household, a widowed farmer of 26 acres of land. Also living with the family in 1861 was Elizabeth Morgan, granddaughter, b. ca. 1857, St. Weonards.

i. Mary Ann Whitney, bp. 21 Jul 1822, St. Weonards, Herefordshire, England. Her name was alternately Marianne, Marian or Mary. She resided with the family in 1841. She was not living with the family in 1851. She married James Morgan about 1842. Children (all bp. St. Weonards): Elizabeth Morgan, bp. 27 May 1843; John Morgan, bp. 17 Aug 1845; Mary Ann, bp. 12 May 1850; James Henry Morgan, bp. 29 Oct 1854; Jane Elizabeth Morgan, bp. 29 Jun 1856; Alice Jane Morgan, bp. 5 Jun 1859. ii. John Whitney, bp. 14 May 1826, Orcop, Herefordshire, England. In 1841 he was a servant in the household of Jasper Formar in St. Weonards. In 1851, John resided in St. Weonards with his brother Henry. John was a butcher and Henrey was assisting. John, unmarried, resided with the family in 1861. iii. Henry Whitney, bp. 17 May 1829, St. Weonards, Herefordshire, England. In 1841, he was aged 12 years and working as a servant for the family of Benjamin Court in Llanwarne, Herefordshire, England. In 1851 Henry lived with his brother John in St. Weonards. Henry, unmarried, resided with the family in 1861. iv. Elizabeth Whitney, bp. 24 Jan 1836, St. Weonards, Herefordshire, England. She resided with the family in 1841. She resided with the family in 1851. Elizabeth, unmarried, resided with the family in 1861.
