Capt. John Coffin⁵ Whitney (John⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), son of John⁴ and Jerusha (Knowles) Whitney, was born 6 Nov 1751, York, ME,^[1] and died 2 Jan 1822, Philadelphia, PA, aged 71 years. He is buried in the Swedes Cemetery (Gloria Dei Church), Philadelphia, PA.

He married an unknown wife.
