John F.8 Whitney (John Olney7, Whitford6, Asa5, Matthias4, Cornelius3, Joshua2, John1), son of John Olney7 and Frances C. (Bowen) Whitney, was born 1 Jul 1847, CT, and died 21 May 1938. See FindAGrave Memorial 115908413. He may have been born before their marriage, or may have been adopted.
He married firstly, say 1882, Lucy L. Porter, daughter of Lyman E. and Mary R. (-----) Porter. She was born about 1855, East Thompson, CT. Apparently they were divorced. She married secondly, 8 May 1884, Oxford, MA, Samuel Francis, born about 1842, Halpiten, England, son of William and Eliza (-----) Francis.[1]
He married secondly, Emma D. -----. She was born Mar 1863, RI, and died after 1900.
