John Fisher⁶ Whitney (Isaac⁵, Jason⁴, Mark³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Isaac⁵ and Susanna (Turnback)(Hall) Whitney, was born 25 Oct 1809, Middlesex, NY, and died 19 Jun 1895, Macomb, MI, aged 85 years 8 months 16 days, of neurlagia, widowed, farmer, son of John and Susan Whitney, both born NY. He was buried in Macomb Center Cemetery, Macomb, MI.^[1]

He married, 17 May 1838, Chesterfield, MI, Phebe Nelson, daughter of Richard and Mary (Bowhorn) Nelson. She was born 24 Dec 1819, Bichnor, co. Kent, England, and died 3 Apr 1890, Macomb, MI, aged 70 years 3 months, married, housewife. She was buried in Macomb Center Cemetery, Macomb, MI.^[2]

He was born in Middlesex County, NY, in 1809, and by the death of his father was left an orphan at an early age. In 1834 he migrated to Michigan, and two years later purchased a farm, then in the wilderness at Mount Clemens, on which he has ever since resided. Resided Mount Clemens, MI.
