John Heath9 Whitney (John Heath8, Elisha7, Elisha6, Elijah5, Daniel4, John3, John2, John1), son of John Heath8 and Sarah (Skinner) Whitney, was born 24 Feb 1838, Boston, MA, was baptized 12 Oct 1838, Roxbury, MA,[1] and died 19 Sep 1887, Boston, MA, aged 49 years 6 months 25 days, of marasmus.[2]
He married, 5 Jun 1871, Boston, MA, Harriett Adelaide Bates, daughter of John and Mary (French) Bates.[3] She was born 20 Dec 1839, Weymouth, MA, and died after 1900.
He resided Boston, MA, rear of 7 Monument Sq. In 1874 he was a broker living at 35 Waltham St., Boston, MA. In 1879 he was a broker living on Wales St., Boston, MA.

Reed, b. ca. 1881, Boston, MA, dau. of Samuel B. and Katherine (Burnside) Reed.[5] In 1906 he was in insurance living at 172 Glenway St., Boston, MA. Children: iii. Robert Bates Whitney, b. 11 Apr 1879, Boston, MA;[8] d. 23 Jun 1909, Boston, MA, aged 26 years 4 months 17 days, of septicemia;[9] m. 6 Feb 1907, Boston, MA, Anna M. Davis, b. ca. 1884, Boston, MA, dau. of Charles J. and Ella C. (Parker) Davis.[10]
